The one-stop place for the fans

of the Fallout series of games to go.

While many great RPG games exist, some of the most notable include the Fallout Series, which included Fallout I, Fallout II, and Fallout Tactics.

Unlike many other RPGs, these are science fiction based, set in a post-apocalyptic world recovering from a devastating nuclear war.

2004-09-03 [Vesthrix]: Ha yes, Fall Out. Tell my if there is anything to I can do to help with construction.

2004-09-18 [Vesthrix]: So, you were talking about a possible Fallout RPG?

2004-09-18 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Yeah, I am interested in getting one going. There's plenty of material between the three games to do it.

2004-09-18 [Vesthrix]: I have one or two friends that might be interested.

2004-09-20 [Jay Ladlehaus]: cool...how is Burnup going? I think that might be a good system from what I've read so far.

2004-09-20 [Vesthrix]: Its coming along. Next up I'm going to get ride of damage types, (the game really doesn't need them) and add in medieval armor.

2004-09-20 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Is there anyway the system could be converted for Fallout?

2004-09-20 [Vesthrix]: I think that, once I get to adding futuristic items, it could run a fallout game as it is. However it could be converted to to be very close to the S.P.E.C.A.L. system see that I used it as a base for a lot of things. It would just be a little extra work. However my time isn't all that plentiful any more so its mostly a mater of how long you want to wait.

2004-09-20 [Pnelma Tirian]: I have looked so far for a fallout fanclub. I'm glad there is one, now.

2004-09-21 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Yep, we have one here. We're still under construction and open to suggestions

2004-09-21 [og_ghost]: there's no possible friggen way any fallout rpg could be comparable to Fallout. Don't even insult the name by trying to make one. gah..

2004-09-21 [Avaz]: Well, whaddya think about the fact that TSR made a D&D version of Fallout some years back.. did you ever try that?

2004-09-21 [og_ghost]: nothing doing.

2004-09-21 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Avaz, are you talking about Planescape: Torment? Ghost: since the Van Buren Project seems hopelessly stalled, any Fallout recreations are welcome

2004-09-21 [og_ghost]: Fallout 3 has been confirmed. It's just not being made by Black Isle.

2004-09-21 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Oh really? Who's doing it? Is this info on Interplay's site?

2004-09-21 [Vesthrix]: There is a link on No Mutains alowed.

2004-09-21 [Avaz]: Hm. [og_ghost].. turns out it might have been a rumor or something.. but I coulda swore there was a tabletop D&D version of Fallout. *shrug* Oh well, try as I might, I couldn't find any reference to it.

2004-09-21 [Vesthrix]: I have the rules to the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. (Fallout) system adapted for table top games. Its not very good see that special was built with computers in mind not GMs.

2004-09-22 [Jay Ladlehaus]: What are the faults in the system for GMs? BTW folks, if you have any Fallout art you've done, feel free to post it.

2004-09-22 [og_ghost]: well, if you're going to use a system designed for computers, not GM's, when you GM it, you have to do it like a computer. which sucks. Anyway, I'll find out tomorrow and get back to you on who is making it, but it isn't Black Isle. Black Isle is gone. Rest In Peace, old friend.

2004-09-22 [Vesthrix]: The faults are that the computer does math at very quick rate a GM doesn't. That was the main problem. Actaully know I think about it we did have a novice GM a more experienced GM might be able to handle it but still it would be slow. Lots of calculator work.

2004-09-22 [Avaz]: I think the thing I was thinking of was the thing Vesthrix mentioned. yeah. Lots of 'thing's.

2004-09-23 [og_ghost]: it's actually just a lot of all around work.

2004-09-23 [Jay Ladlehaus]: would setting up formulas in some program like excel help facilitate the process?

2004-09-23 [og_ghost]: screw excel

2004-09-23 [og_ghost]: get me the fallout rules and I'll write up a computer program for it.

2004-09-23 [og_ghost]: I'll upload it and you can dl it and gm whatever you like.

2004-09-23 [Jay Ladlehaus]: I appreciate that ghost...I'll see what I can find out...if anybody else has it already, feel free to chime in

2004-09-24 [Vesthrix]: I can email a copy of the S.P.E.C.A.L. rules to you. Its 2499 KB though.

2004-09-24 [Jay Ladlehaus]: okay, not a prob

2004-10-10 [Vesthrix]: So, how is everone doing?

2004-10-11 [Jay Ladlehaus]: I'm doing good, today was my bday

2004-10-11 [og_ghost]: I don't believe I ever got a copy of the rules...

2004-10-11 [Jay Ladlehaus]: I'm sorry, I thought you did. I will email them to you now.

2004-10-11 [Vesthrix]: and if he doesn't ask me.

2004-10-11 [Jay Ladlehaus]: I just did, it should go through since we're all on yahoo (yay 100meg accounts!)

2004-10-11 [Vesthrix]: I'm not on yahoo.

2004-10-12 [og_ghost]: zesty. I'll have to check it tonight, though.

2004-10-12 [Jay Ladlehaus]: not a problem...take your time :)

2004-10-14 [og_ghost]: i got it, but it didn't dl right. I'll have to try again.

2004-10-14 [Jay Ladlehaus]: ok, sounds good :)

2004-10-14 [Jay Ladlehaus]: while ghost is figuring out the program, if anyone (including ghost) as any ideas for the RP, post or message me.

2004-10-15 [Jay Ladlehaus]: btw...I was doing a little checking online...Bethesda (www.bethsoft.com) is doing Fallout 3, and may do 4 and 5 as well. The story was here: http://www.nma-fallout.com/fallout3/

2004-10-16 [Vesthrix]: I'll I can say is that it should be an epic tale. Here's a question should we use new characters at first level or should we have an epic campain using our favorit 20th level characters from the computer game?

2004-10-16 [Vesthrix]: Or maybe we could do both. Have a low level game and with, going on at the same time and sometimes interacting a epic level game. Instead having the GM send in a high level NPC when the PCs get in a mess to save them we can resuce ourselves!

2004-10-16 [Jay Ladlehaus]: kind of like the mysterious stranger perk?

2004-10-17 [Vesthrix]: yah, kind of like that. Execpt the 20 level characters are also a little like the ... err what is that league that has all thoughs superheros in it? We could say that the 20th level characters were the team that took out the master or the enclave a few years back. That might be a little over kill though, maybe they just saved the regein from a major threat. That way they (or atleast their deeds) are well known through out the regein. Their deeds are over shadowed by the new threat to all life on what is left of earth!

2004-10-17 [Jay Ladlehaus]: that's not a bad idea...we could bring back all the old heroes from II: Sulik, Vic, Cassidy, Marcus, Lenny, Gorlik, Myron, the robots...

2004-10-17 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Oh, and you must be thinking of the JLA (Justice League of America) or one of the spinoff (JSA, Outsiders)

2004-10-17 [og_ghost]: ok, insofar as that is concerned, I am ideal. I am really good at organizing coinciding plotlines. We wuold have two seperate RPG's that take place in the same world at the same time. One is the epic one. The other is the newbie one. The newbie one will, at the start at least, be very heavily influenced by the epic one, but by the end, the two should have mutual influences... it would follow the same basic idea behind my Legend system.

2004-10-17 [Vesthrix]: I think the newbies should win the day in the end. I was think about having the chosen one/Valt dewler characters from our indevidial one player games as the epic people.

2004-10-18 [og_ghost]: That works for me.

2004-10-18 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Aside from the three of us, (and possible a fourth), how many do we actually have for a Fallout RPG

2004-10-18 [og_ghost]: [Pnelma Tirian] would be interested.

2004-10-18 [Vesthrix]: I think we should use mostly Fallout 1 weapons some Fallout 2 weapons and then a few of just anything. I can't say about Fallout Tactics because I've never played it. I also say that we use caps for money since that just so cool.

2004-10-18 [Vesthrix]: I can and would like to get the guy who interduced me to Fallout to play. [Bomburr]

2004-10-18 [Jay Ladlehaus]: I agree on the caps, or maybe ringpulls, that would be cool...Bomburr and anyone else is more than welcome. So far that gives us a total of six players, and one maybe...so we're looking pretty good.

2004-10-18 [Vesthrix]: Which do you like better, the master and mutains or the enclave or who ever the bad guy in tatics? I think the master was the better main bad guy but the enclave was so much more evil and dangerous then a bunch of stupied mutians.

2004-10-18 [og_ghost]: Caps. Strictly Caps. All else is heresy. I enjoy burning heretics. hehehe....

2004-10-18 [og_ghost]: Neither. Leave that to me. hehehehe.

2004-10-18 [Jay Ladlehaus]: I personally would prefer to have the enclave as the bad guys...they didn't seem to get completely annihilated like the Master. The bad guy from Tactics could be a possibility, but I don't want to put spoiler info on here as to why, so if you want to know just message me (or wait until I put it up in the history section)

2004-10-18 [Vesthrix]: I'll wait. You know the master might not be human enough to die... some part of him may have survived or became seperated perivious to the main parts enconter with the vault dewler... and the enclave respected him and needs a leader...

2004-10-18 [Jay Ladlehaus]: mmm...I agree with the first part, it's entirely possible that vestiges of the master survived in his various creations, but I just can't see the enclave joining up with him, regardless of how hard up they are for a leader. Their agendas are just too divergent to be aligned.

2004-10-18 [Vesthrix]: There goals are very much the same, they both want to restore the world for whom they see as most fit. Aah that doesn't really work. What I like about the enclave is the way they were really evil in the game. I settal for a army of minons that is truely evil. Maybe the master takes a page from the enclaves book.

2004-10-18 [Jay Ladlehaus]: You know it sounds like you and ghost are putting a lot of thought into this...the two of you, whether together or individually, should get something down so we can figure out how we want to proceed.

2004-10-19 [og_ghost]: alrighty, here's my thing: this is our game. It's fallout yes, and I intend to stay true to the series, but this is our game. I don't think we should strictly follow the storyline of Fallout. We should make our own, include the storylines of Fallout, and carve the path for ourself.

2004-10-19 [Jay Ladlehaus]: well if someone wants to follow the original story lines strictly they should play the original games. You have the right idea there.

2004-10-19 [og_ghost]: Besides, the original games can do that much a lot better than we can. I think that the epic tale could possibly follow the story of the games to a certain point, but the one where we start off as newbies, that one should be purely us.

2004-10-19 [Jay Ladlehaus]: definitely...btw have you had any luck with the program upload?

2004-10-19 [og_ghost]: well, the first time I tried, it didn't work, not sure why, but I can try again. How big is it?

2004-10-19 [Jay Ladlehaus]: 3404k do you want me to resend?

2004-10-19 [og_ghost]: no, not yet. I am going to try something (tonight, once again)

2004-10-19 [Vesthrix]: I for one think it would be cool to go off and do our own thing. Just use the origainal games as a model.

2004-10-20 [og_ghost]: yes. Then we are all agreed. Unanimity is an awesome thing. :)

2004-10-20 [og_ghost]: BTW: Update on the SPECIAL thingy. My internet didn't work last night. Not sure why not. But that's the state of things, so I made no progress on that, so far. If there is any way you could send it to me via elftown, it would make things much easier.

2004-10-20 [Jay Ladlehaus]: you mean the SPECIAL rules?

2004-10-20 [og_ghost]: yes.

2004-10-25 [Vesthrix]: How's it going?

2004-10-25 [Mitsune]: Yay! i'll join the RPG when it opens...

2004-10-25 [Jay Ladlehaus]: good stuff :)

2004-10-25 [Mitsune]: Looks kinda complicated though...

2004-10-25 [Jay Ladlehaus]: uh, it won't be complicated unless you're the GM, and we have someone writing a program that will incorporate all that information so that everything is super easy.

2004-10-25 [Vesthrix]: Ah, a new speaking person. That is brings a smile to my face.

2004-10-25 [Mitsune]: Yeah..I'm the not-so-new kid...

2004-10-26 [Vesthrix]: I don't recall see you around before...

2004-10-26 [Mitsune]: No... but I've been browsing around the wiki for a little while... and it's all because of blue...

2004-10-27 [og_ghost]: well, yeah. so is everything. lol. hehe, was playing the game today. got to lvl 3 without killing anything. It was fun. But I got somewhat obsessive. But, as you probably know, the more things you steal at a time, the more exp you get. Well, if you steal 13 bottle caps, one at a time, in the same "stealing session" you get 910 exp. Fun times.

2004-10-27 [Jay Ladlehaus]: lol, definitely

2004-10-28 [og_ghost]: oh, and I'll be getting to your messages soon, blue. I have 200-some other messages to attend to, so it gets rather busy sometimes.

2004-10-29 [Jay Ladlehaus]: lol not a problem

2004-11-05 [og_ghost]: I would recommend Ultimate Weapons Tournament, but that likely is put off for a little while... I simply don't ahve the time to put into it proper.

2004-11-17 [Jay Ladlehaus]: ghost and vesthrix...I'm going out today to buy rp dice, hex sheets, and the rest of that good stuff...if you have time, start writing some roleplaying plots as we discussed

2004-11-17 [Vesthrix]: Time? whats time?

2004-11-17 [Pnelma Tirian]: lol, no kidding. I recommend Fantasma, because it has a very good rp system. the entire thing is quite organized and neat, in fact. Very user-friendly

2004-11-17 [Jay Ladlehaus]: lol, Vesthrix, time is something in short commodity...that's why I'm glad we have the stuff you sent me. I have the tools we need to get everything going, I just need to study in detail all of SPECIAL system so we run smoothly when everything is up and running.

2004-11-17 [Vesthrix]: Make sure you read the bit about it being ok to make things up, though thats not as important on elftown since were all here at our lesure.

2004-11-17 [Jay Ladlehaus]: will do :)

2004-12-11 [Pnelma Tirian]: I'd also like to recommend Quixalia, because it really, desperately needs players.

2004-12-11 [og_ghost]: Quiet, ye. lol. Although I really wish I could devote my time to Ultimate Weapons Tournament It has so much potential...

2004-12-11 [Vesthrix]: Quixalia hu? *adds it to RPG indes*

2005-01-24 [og_ghost]: back in school now, but still don't have time to work on the program. Should be able to do that starting sometime within the next three weeks (meaning after these next two weeks, lol)

2005-01-24 [Jay Ladlehaus]: :) awesome, sounds great.

2005-01-24 [Vesthrix]: lol, I know how thats bond to go.

2005-01-27 [og_ghost]: Update: in two weeks, I will be reinstating everything about Ultimate Weapons Tournament, a fighting rpg that will depend both on stats and rp'ing ability. So, if you are interested *nudge, nudge*, go make a character and join a clan.

2005-03-29 [Jay Ladlehaus]: I'm thinking about joining UWT pretty soon here. BTW: Spam Alert: I've set up a new wiki to handle the unnecessary chatter that takes place in the official Elftown wikis. Please take a look at Official Chat and spread the word.

2005-03-29 [Vesthrix]: wouldn't a forum be better?

2005-03-29 [Vesthrix]: By the way, I finally bought both fallout 1 and 2 a few days ago. No more piraited copy of fallout 2 for me. Did you know that the jew case of both the games is $4.17 now while fallout 2 alown is $19.00?

2005-03-29 [Jay Ladlehaus]: No, because most of the unnecessary chatter isn't hitting the forums. Congrats on the purchases. That is odd about the prices, particularly the $19.00 for FOII. I got both for about $10, and that was years ago.

2005-03-30 [og_ghost]: true. Yeah, any help you can offer with UWT would be much appreciated. I could use the support/

2005-03-30 [og_ghost]: and I am currently working on the engine to handle the Fallout GUI for a RPG.

2005-03-30 [Jay Ladlehaus]: superb!

2005-03-30 [Vesthrix]: What do those abrevations stand for?

2005-03-31 [og_ghost]: UWT = Ultimate Weapons Tournament. It's a online text adventure I'm hosting. GUI = Graphical User Interface, so that you can actually SEE what your doing (so you can point and click and drag and all that fun stuff). RPG = Role Playing Game. :P

2005-03-31 [Vesthrix]: Well I knew RPG.

2005-03-31 [Jay Ladlehaus]: I would hope so lol

2005-03-31 [og_ghost]: Yup. And, unfortunately, I have to be a communist about the whole process and make a utility to allow me to easily create such GUI's in the future with different projects.... which of course is making things absurdly complicated, now.

2005-03-31 [Vesthrix]: alas...

2005-04-01 [og_ghost]: So I've actually made a conscious effort to go through and just get a version of it done, and then I'll make the abstract version later.

2005-06-09 [Vesthrix]: Way cool: http://www.fanmadefallout.com I'm working on a dialogue application.

2005-06-09 [Jay Ladlehaus]: ooks pretty cool.

2005-08-18 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Hello, watchers. Please go to Fallout Polls and give me some input on the banners. Thanks!
